Hey Rockers,
There have been way too many young teenagers dying in car wrecks in the past week. A total of 16 people have died on Minnesota roads in the last 8 days and the majority have been teenagers.
As tragic as this has been - use it as a teaching point with your kids- neices and nephews etc. on the importance of safe driving, seat belt use and not to drink and drive. Let's help educate our children and help them make better choices while driving.
As always stay safe and Rock On.
Great news - Alice Cooper is working on a new album and it's going to be a concept album. It will be called "The Night Shift". Alice will play a late shift DJ, but apparently the Dj is somone or something evil and has a suprise twist at the end. Sounds great , Alice is the master of the concept album. No word on when it will be released .
Tonites the First round of the NFL Draft.... the jury is still out if I like this new format (rd 2-3 Friday and the rest on Saturday). Sitting here wondering what our beloved Vikes are gonna do at #30. They need Oline, CB, and QB possibly.
Do they grab Tim Tebow and work with him, cuz we all know Favre will be back after Training Camp. How about another Florida guy C Maurice Pouncey - he has played Guard and we need help there. CB from Rutgers Devin McCourty if he's available? They may even take a look at DT, as more than likely this will be Pat Williams last year- Brian Price UCLA?
It will be interesting to see where the Vikes go in this draft, the past 3 years they have done ok in the draft:
Total Picks: 18
09 Starters: 7
09 Backups: 5
Other Teams: 3
Out of NFL: 3
As always ROCK ON
ROGER WATERS EXPLORING SOCIO POLITICAL SLANT FOR 'THE WALL'
Roger Waters says that his upcoming road revival of Pink Floyd's The Wall will attempt to transform some of the personal struggles found in the piece into a representation of socio political concerns. Waters last performed The Wall in 1990 as an all-star production at the Berlin Wall.
When announcing the fall tour last week he posted on his website (rogerwaters.com) his thoughts on revamping The Wall, explaining, "Maybe the story of my fear and loss with it's concomitant inevitable residue of ridicule, shame and punishment, provides an allegory for broader concerns: Nationalism, racism, sexism, religion . . .All these issues . . . are driven by the same fears that drove my young life."
Now you have another great reason to head to Moondance Jam this year----Sammy Hagar is coming back. He will close Thursday night. I saw him at Moondance 2 years ago and was blown away by his set . It was fantastic. Can't wait to see him again. Moondance Jam is now pretty much set they need just one more national act...wonder who Bill will get.......As always ROCK ON
Well, I went to Saturday's game at brand new Target Field and I must say it was a great time. Hey they even beat the Cardinals 8-3. The ball park is beautiful, as it should be since it cost like 525 million to build. They view from everywhere is great and that scoreboard is something else.
Here's a friendly bit of advice - if you want shade get on the 1st base side, that side only gets sun in the morning as I sat there all afternoon and got no sun whatsoever. This would be good on days it may rain or when it's blistering hot. On cool days get seats on the 3rd base side that way you will get sun to keep you warm.
The food was great and the atmosphere was fantatstic. Trips to Target Field in the future should be fun for decades.....Rock On
